Powered by local agencies.
Why local agencies?
Voyacar doesn't run a fleet. The platform connects travellers with independent rental agencies on the ground. You book online, and the local agency hands you the vehicle.
Local operators
Independent agencies that know their city, their roads and their customers.
Cars they own
Human-sized fleets, maintained by the same team that meets you at the desk.
A direct contact
A question or a hiccup on the day? You talk to the agency directly, not a call centre.
Two-step payment
A deposit online to confirm, the balance settled locally in the local currency.
At pickup
What to bring.
The agency walks you around the vehicle, checks your documents and the deposit, then hands you the keys.
Pro tip
Take a quick phone video of the vehicle (4 sides + dashboard) before driving off. Having your own copy of its condition makes drop-off easier.
01Your driving licence
Valid. Some agencies require a minimum holding period or an international permit — check the terms on the listing.
02ID or passport
In the same name as the booking.
03A payment card
In the main driver's name, for the deposit (a hold or pre-authorisation, depending on the agency).
04The walk-around
Vehicle inspection and photos with the agency, signature, then you drive off.
Payment & currency
A deposit online. The balance at the agency, in the local currency.
Payment happens in two steps: a secure online deposit confirms the booking, and the balance is settled directly at the agency in the local currency.
Step 1
Deposit online
→Paid by card, in your card's currency.
→Secured via Stripe.
→Refundable per the agency's cancellation terms.
→Receipt sent by email.
Step 2
Balance at the agency
→Paid on site, in the local currency.
→Payment methods accepted depend on the agency (card or cash).
A valid driving licence, an ID or passport in the booking name, and a payment card in the main driver's name for the deposit. Some agencies require a minimum licence-holding period or an international permit — this is stated on the vehicle page.
How does payment work?
You pay a small deposit online (by card, via Stripe) to confirm the booking. The balance is then paid directly at the agency, in the local currency. The breakdown is shown before you confirm.
Can I cancel my booking?
Each agency sets its own cancellation window, shown on the vehicle page before booking. To cancel or change, use your account or contact the agency directly.
What happens if I arrive late at the agency?
Let the agency know (its contact details are on your confirmation). If you're arriving by plane, add your flight number when booking so the agency can track your arrival.
What if I have an accident or breakdown?
Pull over safely, take photos, and contact the agency first — it manages the vehicle and handles the process on the ground.
Can I add a second driver?
When the agency offers it, yes. The second driver usually needs to be present at pickup with their licence. Terms and rate are set by the agency.
How does it work for scooters and motorbikes?
The flow is the same as for cars. A helmet is included when the vehicle listing says so. The required licence depends on engine size and is stated on each listing.
How does the deposit work?
The agency places a deposit hold at pickup (a hold or pre-authorisation on your card, depending on the agency), released after you return the vehicle. The deductible amount is shown on the listing.
Do I pay the balance in the local currency?
Yes. The deposit is charged online in your card's currency; the balance is paid at the agency in the local currency. The amount is set at the time of booking.
